Micheal Williams Broke the NBA Free Throw Record 30 Years Ago!
While playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves in April 1993, Micheal Williams' broke the NBA Free Throw Record formally held by Calvin Murphy. Mike surpassed Murphy's streak of 78 straight baskets to a stunning 97 free throws in a row.
After Mike played 11 years in the NBA, he started the 3i Contracting brand. 3i partnered on the construction of the Dallas Cowboy Stadium and was the first Black company to build a Dallas ISD school from ground up. He also created Mike Williams' Assist 4 Life, a foundation that educates, inspires and promotes future leaders in construction.
Mike's three daughters, Marriel, Amari and Holland, as well as his wife Tante wanted to honor Mike's 30 year Free Throw Record with an unforgettable event. They will honor him with memories, music and many more heart-warming moments. Put on your Sunday best and bring your dancing shoes. Hors D'oeuvres, early dinner and cocktails will be provided.
